Derrick Adams' "Parlay" screenprint series is a collection of four different compositions that explore themes of chance, leisure, and the Black experience. His technique includes the dice pattern being applied to book cloth, which was inspired by 1980s fashion designer Patrick Kelly. Adams cleverly uses the tilted imagery to suggest that life is aways a gamble, while "parlaying" leisure into relaxation and joy.
